About The Position

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions, crucial for new semiconductor chips and advanced displays. The equipment we create and service is essential for advancing AI and accelerating the commercialization of next-generation semiconductor chips. This role is part of the Fusion Team's rotational training program within the Semiconductor Equipment business unit, designed to attract, assimilate, grow, and retain talented engineers. The program includes rotational assignments over the first two years to help determine the best full-time position for the engineer. The program starts in summer 2027, on-site at our Gloucester, MA campus.

Requirements

  • Graduating with a Bachelor’s degree (or Master's) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Must be in good academic standing with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
  • Able to solve complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
  • Flexible and adaptable mindset who thrives in a results-driven culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship or related experience in field.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the procurement and assembly of electrical/electronic components/equipment and identify sources of critical parts and subsystems to resolve basic technical issues.
  • Design or modify electrical/electronic engineering assemblies, layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of limited scope under direct supervision.
  • Perform basic engineering analysis under direct supervision.
  • Perform and generate basic engineering test reports under direct supervision.
  • Generate related alpha/gamma documentation for product release.
  • Troubleshoot a variety of basic electrical problems.
  • Effective use of engineering processes in the resolution of generally difficult electrical problems of limited scope.
