About The Position

RTX has an opening for an Electrical Engineer – Facilities (Design, Estimating, Scheduling) (Manager, Facilities) hands-on individual contributor role. Responsible for supporting facilities electrical design, electrical distribution, and construction project management. Project estimating, load sizing, coordination studies, arch flash studies, development of construction drawings, preparation of bid documents and construction administration for office renovations, laboratory fit-ups and manufacturing equipment installations. Support project from design, through the bid cycle, construction project management followed by project closeout.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in facilities electrical engineer design and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8+ years’ experience in building electrical engineering to include areas such as the following: High, Medium and Low Voltage, Primary and Secondary Power, Multi-Frequency Power, Grounding Solutions, Load Sizing, Control Systems and interlock systems, Coordination Studies, Lighting and Controls, Lightning Protection.
  • 5+ years’ experience with construction project management including customer scoping meetings, budget monitoring, establishing and updating schedules, contractor coordination, commissioning, and close-out.
  • Experience and working knowledge of SKM short circuit & arc fault analysis and feeder & transformer sizing.
  • Proficiency with AutoCad, REVIT, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project Scheduler.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience to interface and present to leadership, internal customers, information technology, security, construction trade workers and subcontractors.
  • Familiarity with building electrical systems and general understanding of building construction and civil works to include Coordinating Electrical designs with other building design disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, structural, civil, IT, and security.
  • Experience in Facilities Engineering, Design and Construction Project Management
  • Experience with manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS) and control systems such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric

Responsibilities

  • Project estimating, project scheduling, design of building electrical systems.
  • Preparation of diagrams, sketches, construction drawings, cost estimates, bid documents and construction administration.
  • Meeting with internal customers, developing continuous improvement projects, coordination studies and project management.
  • Interface and coordinate projects with internal and external resources such as information technology, safety, security, internal construction trade workers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
