About The Position

As an Electrical EIT II at SSR, you will take on broader responsibility for technical tasks, supporting design, analysis, and coordination while helping keep project deliverables on schedule, on budget, and aligned with client and code requirements. You will work toward responsible charge under the guidance of senior engineers and may mentor EIT I peers.

You will apply SSR technical standards and procedures on active projects; assist with design analyses and engineering calculations; support design production in Revit and/or CADD; coordinate with designers and other disciplines; and contribute technical information about equipment, procedures, and sequences. The role also involves participating in client and project meetings, communicating requirements to contractors and vendors, supporting man-hour budgets and project documentation, assisting with proposals and presentations, and accompanying senior staff on job-site visits. You will read and interpret engineering documents, maintain accurate files, participate in training, and may assist project managers with select facilitation duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college.
• Two years of applicable experience.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and certified as an EIT with a state licensure board.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; knowledge of discipline-specific software such as Trace700 or SKM.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies, and drafting and design procedures and standards.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations, ability to read drawings, and ability to coordinate multi-discipline inputs.
• Strong written communication and technical writing skills; clear speech and interpersonal collaboration.
• Detail-oriented approach, sound judgment and decision-making, and strong comprehension and follow-through on direction and feedback.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply SSR technical standards and procedures while executing tasks on active projects.
• Assist with design analyses using industry software and perform computer-based engineering calculations and system design functions.
• Support design production in Revit and/or CADD; coordinate with designers and oversee assigned design-development tasks.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to determine equipment needs and provide technical information for procedures and sequences.
• Attend and participate in meetings with owners, clients, and architects as needed; communicate design requirements to contractors and vendors.
• Help develop man-hour budgets, perform tasks in accordance with the plan, and document progress and risks.
• Assist with technical documentation, proposals, and presentations that communicate scope, approach, and value.
• Accompany senior staff on job-site visits to investigate field conditions and monitor progress against design specifications, owner expectations, and codes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schematics, and engineering reports; maintain neat, accurate files.
• Participate in internal and external training; may mentor EIT I peers on software, standards, and codes; may assist project managers with select facilitation duties.
