About The Position
CMTA is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Designer to design systems for high-performance buildings across education, healthcare, and government sectors. The role is based in one of CMTA’s North Dakota offices in Fargo, Bismarck, or Grand Forks. The designer will collaborate with engineers and other personnel, engage with clients and project partners, and contribute to projects intended to improve communities. No sponsorship is available for this position.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience with MEP design.
- Experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
Nice To Haves
- Licenses are preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with owners, clients, architects, and contractors as needed.
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to assigned tasks.
- Confer with engineers and other personnel to complete project deadlines.
- Apply engineering principles and research, design, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.
- Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements.
- Research and analyze clients’ design requirements, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
- Review contractor submittals, including shop drawings, for conformance with contract documents.
