About The Position

Hays Electrical Services is seeking an Electrical Designer to join its Engineering Department. The position supports the development of electrical designs, drawings, and construction documents for commercial and industrial projects. The Electrical Designer works with lead electrical designers, engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver accurate, coordinated, and timely project work.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
At least 2 years of electrical design experience.
At least 2 years of experience using Revit and AutoCAD.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical design principles.
Experience using Bluebeam.
Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) and electrical construction documents.
Experience supporting electrical estimating and preconstruction activities.

Responsibilities

Assist lead electrical designers in producing electrical drawings, schematics, details, schedules, and specifications using Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, structural teams, and project managers to integrate electrical layouts into BIM models and construction plans.
Develop design documents, floor plans, equipment layouts, wiring diagrams, panel schedules, and construction packages from schematic concepts.
Assist with electrical calculations, including load calculations, voltage drop, and lighting analyses, applying applicable codes and standards.
Work with estimating teams during bid and preconstruction phases to align electrical design concepts with budgets and constructability goals.
Update project models using field redlines to produce final as-built drawings and documentation.
Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
