About The Position

Kimley-Horn is seeking an Electrical Design Technician to join its MEP team in West Columbia, South Carolina. The role involves producing and quality-checking drawings and plans of substantial complexity, with occasional multifaceted calculations. The technician works with minimal supervision on day-to-day tasks, applies knowledge of engineering principles to suggest design changes, and helps maintain the drawing database. The role may also include supervising and training CAD staff and developing familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge of and proficiency with Autodesk or Bentley products.
• Detail-oriented, professional attitude, good communication skills, team-player approach, and self-starter mindset.
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication and writing skills, and desire to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree preferred.
