About The Position

This internship role focuses on supporting the design and development of Emerson’s Automation Solutions products from concept through production. Interns will collaborate with cross-functional teams, utilize industry-standard electrical design tools for schematic capture and simulations, and perform electronic testing using laboratory equipment. The role also involves researching new ideas and technologies, and evaluating Emerson systems and electronic circuits to understand system architecture and performance.

Requirements

Pursuing bachelor’s in engineering
Zero (0) years of applicable experience
Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person at a Twin Cities location (Shakopee, Chanhassen, or Eden Prairie, MN)
Legal authorization to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

GPA of 3.0 or above
Prior internship experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

Work with cross-functional teams—including mechanical, software, and systems engineers—to support the design and development of Emerson’s Automation Solutions products from concept through production.
Utilize industry-standard electrical design tools to capture circuit schematics and perform simulations to ensure design integrity and performance.
Perform a variety of electronic testing using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators to validate and troubleshoot designs.
Research and develop new ideas, tools, and technologies that contribute to product innovation and continuous improvement.
Evaluate Emerson systems and electronic circuits at both the functional block and component level to gain a deeper understanding of system architecture and performance.
