Electrical Design Engineer
About The Position
SJE is hiring a Design Engineer to support its Altronex brand at its Madison, Wisconsin location. Altronex provides control solutions for the municipal water and wastewater industries, including custom-engineered control panels, SCADA and telemetry systems, panel fabrication, systems integration, and field services. The Design Engineer designs large engineered panels using AutoCAD Electrical, reviews and interprets specifications for products used in water and wastewater applications, and creates bills of materials and manufacturing documentation for control panels. The role works closely with Operations Coordinators, Sales, and external customers to clarify requirements and gather necessary information. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Experience designing industrial controls.
- Experience creating schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Experience with UL508/698A standards and their application.
- A four-year degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent degree and 1–2 years of experience, or a two-year degree and 3–5 years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Design large engineered panels using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Review and interpret specifications for water and wastewater application products.
- Create bills of materials and documentation for control panel manufacturing.
- Coordinate with Operations Coordinators, Sales, and external customers to ensure understanding and obtain required information.
