About The Position

EllisDon is seeking an Electrical Coordinator to join their team. This role involves coordinating electrical scopes to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and codes. The Electrical Coordinator will plan, direct, and coordinate all on-site electrical activities, coordinate drawings to eliminate interference, and provide direction during functional performance testing of electrical systems. This position will also assist Project Managers and Superintendents with schedule updates, RFIs, shop drawings, and project completion requirements. The role includes developing M&E schedules, tracking installation progress against milestones, and maintaining communication with M&E sub-trades to ensure deliverables and deadlines are met. Requirements

  • You have an electrical engineering or construction related degree or diploma
  • 1 year of electrical construction experience is preferred
  • You have a working knowledge of electrical engineering systems, principles and practices
  • You have the ability to proactively identify and document any problems/conflicts and effectively manage and resolve them
  • Must be able to work on site in Port Colborne, Ontario

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of Electrical Scopes to ensure they comply with specifications, drawings and codes
  • Plan, direct and coordinate all on-site electrical activities to comply with specifications, requirements and codes
  • Coordinate all relevant drawings and information to eliminate interference problems
  • Provide direction during functional performance testing of all electrical systems
  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in updating and achieving schedule requirements, mechanical and electrical RFI’s and shop drawings and administrate mechanical/electrical project completion requirements
  • Assist and generate an M&E schedule for trades outlining submissions, delivery, installation and inspection dates; coordinate with project schedule
  • Track installation in the field and relate to upcoming milestone dates on schedule, be proactive in identifying tasks that may go past completion dates shown on schedule.

  • Maintain constant communication with your M&E sub trade(s) and follow up on a monthly basis to ensure that deliverables and deadlines maintained
