About The Position

This role involves providing technical support for troubleshooting equipment and process-related issues, as well as contributing to the continuous improvement of converting processes and equipment. Responsibilities include working with plant electrical distribution systems, equipment or process control systems, electrical circuits, motors, drives, camera inspection systems, and lot code printing equipment. The position also involves basic robotic manipulation and troubleshooting, with the ability to navigate equipment problems, determine causes, and implement necessary repairs, potentially including program modifications. Flexibility in work schedule is required for equipment downtime or backup shift coverage. The role also emphasizes demonstrating commitment to the company's RRITE Values (Renew, Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence) and ensuring all work is performed safely. Associates are expected to contribute to a cooperative working environment and perform other job-related tasks as needed. Electrical Controls Technician I (Grade 8) focuses on basic technical support and troubleshooting. Electrical Controls Technician II (Grade 9) includes all accountabilities of ECT I, plus advanced technical support, leading maintenance for specific systems (camera inspection, lot code printing, robotics), modifying existing logic, writing new logic as projects require, tuning, modifying, and installing new manufacturing equipment, and training/mentoring ECT I associates.

Requirements

Minimum of an AS Electronics Technology, a 2-year industrial maintenance or equivalent program, or 1 year experience with automation and controls equipment including but not limited to AB Control Logix or AB Studio 5000 and at least one other controls platform or equivalent combination of education and experience (ECT I).
Must understand the basics of PLC ladder logic, HMI and Vision system programming.
Understanding of Electrical safety in both High and Low Voltage Controls.
Understanding or the ability to research current National Electric Code requirements before project start.
Minimum of an AS Electronics Technology or a 2-year industrial maintenance or equivalent program and 3 years’ experience with automation and controls equipment including but not limited to AB Control Logix or AB Studio 5000 and at least one other controls platform or equivalent combination of education and experience (ECT II).
Advanced knowledge of Allen Bradley Studio 5000/RS Logix and Factory Talk Batch (ECT II).
Knowledge of robotic programming, 24VDC systems and the ability to make modifications to control systems (timers, counters, constants, etc.) required (ECT II).

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of robotic programming, 24VDC systems and the ability to make minor modifications to control systems (timers, counters, constants, etc.) preferred (ECT I).

Responsibilities

Work safely and in accordance with facility safety guidelines and procedures.
Provide daily process support to the Operations Team.
Provide basic technical support for troubleshooting equipment and process related issues.
Contribute to continuous improvement of converting processes and equipment.
Support plant electrical distribution systems, equipment or process control systems, electrical circuits, motors and drives.
Support general camera inspection systems maintenance.
Support general lot code printing equipment maintenance.
Support basic robotic manipulation and troubleshooting.
Navigate equipment problems and determine causes to implement necessary repair up to and including program modification.
Be flexible in work schedule to support equipment downs or to provide backup shift coverage support on an as needed basis.

Provide advanced technical support for troubleshooting equipment and process related issues (ECT II).
Assist with determining equipment issues and assisting with Root Cause Analysis to improve equipment reliability (ECT II).
Lead camera inspection systems maintenance (ECT II).
Lead lot code printing equipment maintenance (ECT II).
Lead robotic manipulation and troubleshooting (ECT II).
Modify existing logic and writing as projects mandate (ECT II).
Responsible for working within a team for tuning, modifying, and installing new manufacturing equipment (ECT II).
Able to properly and efficiently train and mentor ECT level I associates utilizing an approved training plan (ECT II).
