About The Position

The Electrical Construction Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent and Construction Manager in overseeing electrical and instrumentation construction activities for ultra-pure water (UPW) plants on semiconductor projects. This full-time, non-exempt field position assists with day-to-day field coordination, subcontractor oversight, quality control, schedule execution, safety compliance, and progress reporting to support successful project delivery. It serves as a key field resource working with subcontractors, field engineers, and project management teams. The role develops a working understanding of the UPW process from design and procurement through construction, commissioning, and turnover. It assists in coordinating subcontractors, monitoring field activities, interpreting project drawings and specifications, identifying and resolving field issues, and communicating field conditions and risks to project leadership. The position also supports work planning, inspections and testing, schedule and cost controls, progress reporting, coordination among trades, and the preparation and implementation of construction procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical and instrumentation construction experience.
Minimum 2 years of field engineer or foreman experience.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and site safety requirements.
Experience with electrical systems, control systems, and utility infrastructure.
Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Procore, and Bluebeam.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, ASME, ASTM, and SEMI requirements.
Working knowledge of electrical drawings, P&IDs, and construction sequencing.
Experience coordinating field construction activities with multiple contractors.
Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and spend significant time in the field.
Ability to perform field work in active construction environments; climb ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, and platforms; access elevated work areas; walk extensive distances across large project sites; and work outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to distinguish wire colors, indicator lights, and equipment markings.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree in Construction Management, Electrical Technology, Instrumentation Technology, or a related discipline.
Bachelor's degree.
OSHA 30 certification.
Semiconductor facility construction experience, including UPW, WWT, PCW, CMP, bulk gas, or chemical systems.
BIM experience using Revit and Navisworks.
Commissioning and startup support experience.
Japanese and/or Mandarin language capability.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a working understanding of the UPW process, including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
Support the Superintendent in coordinating subcontractors performing electrical and instrumentation work.
Monitor day-to-day field activities and promptly communicate issues, delays, and concerns.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, loop drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and project specifications.
Assist in identifying and resolving field construction issues while supporting safety, quality, and productivity objectives.
Facilitate communication among project stakeholders and subcontractors, and provide timely field feedback for project decisions.
Build positive working relationships with subcontractor supervisors and trades personnel.
Assist the Superintendent in directing daily work and monitoring workforce performance; promote a safe, productive, collaborative work environment.
Coordinate field activities with owners, subcontractors, commissioning personnel, engineering teams, and other contractors.
Assist with planning and coordination of electrical and instrumentation construction activities and conduct field constructability reviews.
Support schedule recovery efforts and corrective action plans; assist with schedule maintenance, work sequencing, area readiness, manpower planning, and short-term look-ahead scheduling.
Verify that manpower, tools, equipment, and materials are available for planned work.
Support subcontractor performance evaluations and field documentation.
Inspect installations for compliance with project specifications, standards, and applicable codes; participate in quality assurance and quality control activities.
Monitor material deliveries and report shortages or procurement concerns.
Conduct routine field inspections and track construction progress.
Track labor productivity and field progress, and help collect cost and labor information for forecasting.
Participate in coordination meetings and assist with schedule reviews, RFIs, and change documentation.
Monitor critical-path activities, communicate schedule risks, review progress information for accuracy, and identify field risks, constraints, and improvement opportunities.
Monitor daily electrical and instrumentation installation progress and assist with daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
Collect and verify subcontractor progress updates and field reports.
Coordinate installation activities with other trades, help resolve work-front conflicts and access limitations, coordinate rack utilization, utility routing, and shared work areas, and facilitate scaffold and temporary access requirements.
Verify subcontractor attendance, workforce levels, and productivity; support field direction and communication of project requirements; review subcontractor reports and documentation.
Witness and document electrical and instrumentation testing, including continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, loop checks, and equipment inspections; ensure testing records are maintained.
Review installation methods, equipment requirements, and work procedures; promptly report technical, quality, and safety concerns.
Assist in preparing and implementing work packages, method statements, and construction procedures.
