About The Position

Partner with campuses with electrical programs to assist them with ensuring appropriate classroom training is provided to students to whom Thunder Basin Coal Company (TBCC) could provide part-time, on-the-job training, with the ultimate goal of developing candidates with the skills to be hired into an electrician role at TBCC.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be enrolled in school full-time (typically, at least 12 credit hours).
  • Be enrolled in an industrial electronics program (or similar program to prepare students for a career as an electrician).
  • Maintain a grade of C or better in each class.
  • Submit grade report with a grade of C or better in each class for tuition reimbursement.
  • Submit itemized receipt for tuition reimbursement.
  • Complete requirements for Associate’s degree in Industrial Electronics or similar program, with a grade of C or better in all classes.
  • Demonstrate successful performance in on-the-job training at TBCC, including work quality and quantity, attendance, and behavioral indicators such as communication, safety, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-the-job training in electrical work by carded electricians.
  • Offer part-time, on-the-job training to students during breaks, weekends, or other available times.
  • Develop candidates with the skills to be hired into an electrician role at TBCC.

Benefits

  • Tech 1 wages ($28.00) for time worked at TBCC.
  • Reimbursement for each semester’s tuition costs (except cost of books).
