About The Position

Mangrove is seeking an exceptional individual to play a key role in their multidisciplinary engineering team. The Electrical/Automation Engineer will bridge the gap between plant floor execution and project engineering. In this role, they will assume technical ownership of electrical documentation, handle plant modifications (MOCs), and support the final phase of construction at our Delta production facility. Simultaneously, you will guide the EPC’s electrical engineering direction and own the technical review of their design deliverables for our future large-scale commercial facility. This is a rare opportunity to directly support existing operations while shaping the construction and commissioning of a brand-new, cutting-edge greenfield facility. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse and well-rounded technical skill set, combining strong knowledge of industrial electrical distribution and control systems with a solid working knowledge of PLC-based automation platforms. A proven track record of successfully executing design and troubleshooting projects in a fast-paced technology commercialization or heavy industrial environment is essential. The successful applicant will demonstrate their abilities through various examples across a full project lifecycle (Design, Develop, and Commission). This role is an on-site position based at our new facility in Delta.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Be a registered professional with Engineers and Geoscientists BC or have the ability to readily become one.
  • 3-5 years of experience designing electrical systems for industrial applications.
  • Proficient interpreting and using P&IDs, datasheets, specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Strong technical documentation writing skills.
  • Proficient with Electrical Drafting software (AutoCAD Electrical)
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project)
  • Working knowledge of various Rockwell Software Suite (Studio 5000).

  • Familiarity with Medium and High Voltage systems is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the site ownership of all electrical drawings and documents for our SSP facility in Delta.
  • Deploy system upgrades involving the modification or expansion of existing electrical systems, PLC logic, instrumentation, and motor controls.
  • Work with EPCs, equipment vendors, and various contractors during commissioning and post-startup support.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, control strategy refinements, and future capital modifications.
  • Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams, including training where required.
  • Create and maintain electrical-related documentation, drawings, standards, and engineering procedures.
  • Drive the electrical design direction and execute technical reviews of EPC design deliverables for our future large-scale commercial facility.
  • Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC systems, with a strong emphasis on Rockwell Automation platforms.
