About The Position

Ensure the safety of team members and customers. Assist the construction team to achieve project quality control, on-time completion, and jobsite cleanliness. Work with the construction team to maximize customer satisfaction. This role involves assisting with equipment control and maintaining a clean and organized jobsite daily. The apprentice will become familiar with current code requirements, follow company standards for installations, and practice quality assurance. They will review job plans daily with their lead to understand job layout and equipment requirements, complete projects to ensure maximum production, and communicate work status and any issues to their lead. The apprentice will also ensure tools are cleaned, maintained, and returned properly, and that all personal tools are brought to the site daily. Cooperation with other trades and maintaining friendly relationships with clients and inspectors are also key aspects of this role. The apprentice must stay current with required documentation, OJT hours, and training.

Requirements

• Good command of the English language - verbal and written
• Mechanically inclined
• Team player with good customer and people skills
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools proficiently
• Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach over head – all for extended periods of time
• Must be willing to work both indoors and out at all times of the year
• Able to climb ladders (all types) and work from scaffolds and lifts
• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 51 pounds unassisted

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of team members and customers by following safety standards and identifying/addressing safety violations and hazardous conditions.
• Maintain a clean and organized jobsite daily.
• Assist the construction team to achieve project quality control by becoming familiar with code requirements and company installation standards.
• Verify installations meet project requirements and match design documents.
• Assist the construction team to achieve project on-time completion by staging materials, reviewing job plans, and completing projects efficiently.
• Communicate work status, issues, and material needs to the lead daily.
• Assist with equipment control by ensuring tools are cleaned, maintained, and returned properly.
• Work with the construction team to maximize customer satisfaction by cooperating with other trades and maintaining professional relationships.
• Stay current with required documentation, OJT hours, and training.
