About The Position

Heartwell Renewables is seeking an Electrical Apprentice to gain hands-on experience supporting electrical maintenance and installation activities at its renewable diesel facility. This entry point into the electrical trade offers an opportunity to develop skills in an industrial environment while working alongside experienced electricians and E&I technicians. The apprentice will learn to troubleshoot, maintain, install, and repair electrical equipment and systems, with an emphasis on safety, reliability, teamwork, and continuous learning. The role involves assisting with electrical work and maintenance, learning to use tools and testing equipment, participating in safety and apprenticeship-related training, and working collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance, E&I, and other departments. The work environment may include loud areas, heights, extreme temperatures, dust, confined spaces, and potential chemical or atmospheric hazards requiring appropriate PPE. Requirements

Must be legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
High school diploma or GED.
Interest in pursuing a career in the electrical trade.
Ability to learn and follow electrical and safety procedures.
Basic mechanical/electrical aptitude.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Reliable attendance and willingness to learn.
Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position.
Must be fit to perform the essential functions of the job.
Must be comfortable working in an industrial environment that may include loud areas, work at heights, extreme temperatures, dust, confined-space entry, and potential chemical or atmospheric hazards requiring appropriate PPE.
Ability to perform frequent walking, stand for extended periods, climb ladders or stairs, and lift or carry items weighing up to 40 lbs.
Exposure to high voltage, noise, and industrial equipment.

Nice To Haves

Enrollment in or completion of an electrical apprenticeship or technical program.
Previous electrical, industrial maintenance, construction, or mechanical experience.
Experience working with hand and power tools.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems and components.
OSHA or other relevant safety training.

Responsibilities

Assist qualified electricians and E&I technicians with electrical installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
Learn to troubleshoot electrical equipment and systems under the direction of experienced team members.
Assist with installation and maintenance of electrical conduit, wiring, cable, panels, motors, lighting, and other electrical equipment.
Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Read and interpret basic electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation.
Use hand tools, power tools, meters, and other electrical testing equipment as trained.
Assist with equipment inspections and identify potential electrical issues.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow company safety policies, procedures, and applicable electrical codes.
Participate in required safety training and apprenticeship-related training.
Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, hot work, and other applicable safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance, E&I, and other departments.
Respond to maintenance needs and other assignments as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
