Electrical Apprentice
About The Position
The Electrical Apprentice performs apprentice-level electrical duties involving the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment. The role supports data center operations and electrical projects, including scheduled preventive maintenance and nonscheduled, high-priority work, often involving data center floor issues related to cooling. Requirements
- At least one year of experience in the trade.
- Formal training in the fundamentals of the trade at an approved vocational school, or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform apprentice-level diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
- Perform lighting preventive maintenance.
- Perform battery preventive maintenance.
- Support rack moves, deployments, and decommissioning.
- Repair security gates.
- Conduct inverter testing on battery backups for lights.
- Support team scheduling and material requisition.
- Install and retrofit receptacle panels.
- Validate, actuate, and install MTS boards.
- Prepare electrical panel schedules.
- Maintain spill prevention kits for generators, substations, and related equipment.
- Conduct annual heat trace testing and perform installations and retrofits.
- Provide electrical project support.
- Perform nonscheduled, high-priority work, usually involving data center floor issues related to cooling.
