Electrical Apprentice (3rd-4th year)
About The Position
Piper Electric, a Crete United company, is seeking an Electrical Apprentice, with openings intended for 3rd- and 4th-year apprentices. The position involves supporting electricians on industrial and oilfield electrical work, installing or maintaining approved wiring methods in existing buildings and buildings under construction, and learning the basics of electricity. Apprentices assist with daily assignments from morning roll-out through job-site cleanup. The role offers the opportunity to progress toward becoming a licensed Journeyman Electrician and, as a Journeyman, potentially advance to leading crews.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in the electrical trade.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities appropriate for the position.
- Valid driver's license.
- Reliable transportation for travel when necessary.
- Willingness to submit to pre-employment, random, and for-cause drug testing.
Nice To Haves
- State Apprentice or Journeyman's License preferred.
- Oilfield, plant, or facility experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist electricians with their daily assignments, from morning roll-out through job-site cleanup.
- Support the installation or maintenance of approved wiring methods for systems in existing buildings and buildings under construction, including industrial occupancies and oilfield work.
- Learn the basics of electricity and progress toward becoming a licensed Journeyman Electrician.
