About The Position

The EPG Field Service Technician is responsible for accurately diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing complex operational failures to electrical generator systems and related basic engine failures at customer sites. This role requires promoting a positive customer experience and upholding the Core Values of Integrity, Commitment, Excellence and Teamwork by embracing The Carter Way.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years relevant Electrical Power Generation (EPG)/electronics field experience.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers and all of levels of personnel within the organization.
  • Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to perform well under stressful situations.
  • Ability to demonstrate the ability to learn and apply new knowledge.
  • Self-directed and well organized with the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service.
  • Excellent driving record and the ability to obtain a CDL and/or DOT certification.
  • Proficient in the use of technical software, databases and manuals.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex issues and performing heavy electrical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment.
  • Experience performing megger and vibration testing and genset alignment.
  • Experience installing and commissioning gensets.
