About The Position

This role is for an Electric Motor Design Engineer who will lead electromagnetic design and development efforts for AC and DC motors. The engineer will ensure designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets. The position involves working onsite with engineering peers, vendors, customers, and cross-functional teams to drive projects from concept through verification and production. The work directly impacts product performance and manufacturability for the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical discipline
  • Typically 10 or more years of related engineering experience
  • Extensive experience in gear design and manufacturing
  • Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles
  • Ability to apply advanced engineering principles to complex design and verification tasks
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead projects and communicate with stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of solid modeling CAD, FEA, and simulation software
  • Experience leading continuous improvement efforts and cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Define project goals, schedules, budgets, and technical requirements; drive projects to meet milestones
  • Perform electromagnetic motor design and detailed engineering for AC and DC motors
  • Integrate gear design and manufacturing considerations into motor and product designs
  • Prepare and review schematics, layouts, CAD models, and engineering documentation
  • Lead verification activities: analysis, simulation, and testing to validate product performance
  • Coordinate with vendors for tooling, fixtures, and component supply
  • Develop manufacturing process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Present project status to management and engage with customers as needed
  • Mentor less-experienced engineers and serve as a technical consultant
