About The Position

The Electives Area Teacher helps the Lead Teacher plan and implement the daily program for children. The role supports children’s care and learning through a play-based curriculum, supervises the classroom according to the Lead Teacher’s plans when the Lead is out of the room, assists with meals, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and orderly classroom and Center. An Aide or Assistant Teacher may also assist in the classroom.

Requirements

• Experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience.
• Flexibility with work hours and schedule.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• Coursework or a degree in early childhood education or child development, or a CDA.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the daily care of every child by following licensing guidelines and company standards.
• Help maintain a fun, interactive classroom that is clean and organized.
• Supervise the classroom according to the Lead Teacher’s plans when the Lead Teacher is out of the room.
• Attend required staff training sessions, meetings, and programs sponsored by the Center.
• Help prepare meals and snacks, feed children, and model table manners during family-style meals.
• Perform other related duties as requested by a Lead Teacher or Center Director.
