About The Position

The Teacher helps the Lead Teacher plan and implement the daily program for children and supervises the class when the Lead Teacher is out of the room. The role also supports meals, safety, and maintaining a clean and orderly classroom and Center. An Aide or Assistant Teacher may assist in the classroom.

The position is part of a play-based childcare program focused on supporting children’s learning and development in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.

Requirements

• Experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Coursework or a degree in early childhood education or child development, or a CDA.
• Ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience.
• Flexibility with work hours and schedule.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the daily care of every child by following licensing guidelines and company standards.
• Help maintain a fun, interactive classroom that is clean and organized.
• Supervise the classroom according to the Lead Teacher’s plans when the Lead Teacher is out of the room.
• Attend staff training sessions, meetings, and programs sponsored by the Center, as required.
• Help prepare meals and snacks, feed children, and model table manners during family-style meals.
• Perform other related duties as requested by a Lead Teacher or Center Director.
