About The Position

Change.org is seeking an Elections Organizer for Change.vote, a platform focused on enhancing voter and elected official experiences to foster greater clarity, trust, and participation in democracy. This role will be responsible for managing the recruitment, negotiation, and onboarding of distribution and endorsing partners within a designated target market. It will also involve working with campus interns for distribution efforts. The position reports to the Partnerships Lead, Emily Jakobsen. As a vital member of the Elections team, the organizer will drive traffic to Change.vote through strategic partnerships and campus interns, and recruit endorsers to submit their candidate preferences within the Change.vote ecosystem. Change.org is the world's largest platform for democracy, dedicated to empowering individuals and fostering common-ground solutions through technology and social impact. The organization is investing in AI to build powerful tools for civic engagement and is expanding its core petitions platform and launching a new platform to identify and advocate for widely agreed-upon solutions. Change.org is also developing Change.vote, a trusted, accessible, and transparent election information platform in the United States, with ambitious goals for nationwide scaling.

Requirements

  • An existing network of civic or advocacy contacts; ideally local/field-level, not just statewide leadership.
  • Comfortable initiating cold outreach and closing relationships independently; Outreach volume will determine success in this role.
  • Experience managing volunteers or interns.
  • Can work independently and adapt tactics without needing a rigid script.
  • Fluent and increasingly strategic in AI.
  • At least two cycles of campaign or advocacy work, specifically in organizing, field, political, comms, or marketing (digital or otherwise).

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Identify and build relationships with civic, advocacy, and community organizations across target markets, mostly cities.
  • Build and manage distribution partnerships with civic organizations, nonprofits, and other non-partisan entities (e.g., corporations) across the state.
  • Map the local nonprofit landscape in each target market and prioritize organizations with existing voter engagement infrastructure.
  • Provide organizations with simple, ready-to-use distribution assets — flyers, social copy, email blurbs, QR codes — so adoption requires minimal lift on their end.
  • Coordinate distribution moments tied to their existing calendar: community events, service days, open enrollment periods, back-to-school nights, etc.
  • Help recruit and fully manage campus representatives within your assigned markets with specific outreach goals.
  • Recruit organizations to contribute their endorsements and commentary to Change.vote.
  • Navigate each organization's approval process — often multiple stakeholders, sometimes state or national sign-off.
  • Get endorsement data into change.vote in whatever format the organization already uses (spreadsheet, PDF, or otherwise).
  • Track outreach results and pipeline status in a specific CRM.
  • Provide feedback to the Change.vote Marketing Team about learnings throughout the cycle.

Benefits

  • Hourly rate of pay is $51.63/hr.
  • Compensation philosophy is based on pay equity.
  • Rates are determined before roles are launched based on a predetermined pay scale, the level on that scale and the cost of labor for that location.
