The Elections and Registration Specialist serves as a liaison to Virginia's elections community, providing effective customer service to local election staff and external stakeholders while ensuring compliance with state and federal election administration laws. This role involves internal collaboration with policy and technical teams to answer community questions, advocate for legislative implementation, communicate official agency advisories, and contribute to product and process improvement. As a member of the Election Services team, this position offers significant opportunities to deepen knowledge of Virginia elections and play a key role in enhancing the operational efficiency of the Department of Elections and local election offices. The Department of Elections is dedicated to promoting and supporting accurate, fair, open, and secure elections for all citizens. It ensures the proper administration of election laws, campaign finance disclosure compliance, and voter registration processes through the promulgation of rules, regulations, issuance of instructions, and provision of information to local Electoral Boards and general registrars.
