About The Position
Associated Press is seeking election stringers located in Michigan to gather results for the General Election on November 3, 2026. The election stringer network provides timely results to national and local media organizations and the public. Openings are available in Allegan, Antrim, Arenac, Benzie, Clare, Eaton, Emmet, Gratiot, Hillsdale, Kalamazoo, Marquette, Mecosta, Montcalm, Oceana, Osceola, St. Clair, and Schoolcraft counties. Stringers go to their assigned polling location at poll closing and call in results throughout the tabulation. No experience is necessary, and training is provided. The role offers a $100 stipend and potential future learning opportunities. The application deadline is October 23, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
