About The Position

Under general supervision, this role ensures the County’s Election Department complies with state and federal laws regarding language minority groups in election administration. The position is responsible for producing, organizing, and maintaining accurate electronic and physical records of eligible registered voters within the County. This is a temporary position expected to end around December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws for language minority groups in election administration.
  • Produces, organizes, and maintains accurate electronic and physical records of eligible registered voters.
  • Accepts voter applications in person, by fax, and by phone, and verifies citizenship requirements.
  • Issues application forms, reviews them for completeness, accuracy, and eligibility, and files them.
  • Works with GIS programs for accurate address placement for voters.
  • Processes voters’ applications and updates voter files using the Secretary of State System (TEAM).
  • Researches addresses for proper precinct and county placement, purges ineligible voters, and mails notices of changes.
  • Handles routine office duties including processing mail, sending letters, answering phones, and assisting other departments.
  • Assists in performing logic and accuracy testing of machines and ballots, and preparing voting equipment for testing.
  • Participates in all election activities, including overtime, processing mail ballots, applications, and mail-in ballots.
  • Assists with the FPCA process, including filing and sorting.
  • Delivers or provides equipment support to designated voting locations during early voting and election day.
  • Assists in the call center by answering phone calls from voters or poll workers.
  • Assists in balancing daily voter turnout and uploading voting history to the state system.
  • Assists the Voting Equipment Technician in equipment preparation.
  • Scans, indexes, and proofs all documents before final storage.
  • Performs quality control of documents before final storage or destruction.
  • Maintains the location of stored boxes in the warehouse using current software.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all records and office business.
  • Helps the Elections Director as necessary and performs other duties relating to the general operation of the department.
