The Forestdale School's goal is to be a model of continuous growth, aiming for students to show improvement in state-mandated testing (MCAS, MCAS Alt, ACCESS). The school is dedicated to growing support for students and their families, focusing on social, emotional, and academic development. They foster a caring, nurturing learning community where all students and families feel safe, welcome, and encouraged to participate. The school is currently a PBIS school and is part of a three-year cohort with MTSS, providing teachers with training in Social and Emotional Learning foundations. They have implemented Caring School Communities as their social-emotional curriculum across all grade levels and their teachers are trained in Universal Design for Learning principles to embed inclusive practices into lesson plans, ensuring lessons are inclusive and cater to all learning styles. Students and staff are encouraged to embody the school's PRIDE acronym: Positivity, Respect, Independence, Determination, and Excellence. This is further reinforced by a student-authored poem about PRIDE.
