About The Position

The 5th Grade Spanish Math and Science Immersion Teacher supports the academic growth of students through the implementation of DLS pedagogy, comprehensive classroom management, implementing effective engagement strategies, and building authentic teacher/student relationships. This role is responsible for effective instruction and management of a classroom of middle-schoolers. The 5th Grade Spanish Immersion teacher is a contributing member of the Spanish Immersion Program and works closely with campus principals, instructional leaders and teachers, parents/families, and students to ensure measurable positive student outcomes. This vacancy will be posted until 08/04/2026 or until filled by a highly qualified candidate. We encourage individuals to apply even if the above date has passed. The anticipated start date for this position is 08/04/2026, however, an earlier start date may be considered. The selected candidate will report to the Gilpin Middle School Principal.

Requirements

• 3+ years of teaching experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or closely related field
• Completion of required READ Act training
• Official college transcripts (evaluated by NACES member, if you completed your education outside the US)
• Passing score on Praxis 5205 and 5903 within one year of hire
• Proficiency in Math and Science standards
• Completion of required READ ACT Training
• Official college transcripts evaluated by a NACES member.

Nice To Haves

• 4+ years of teaching experience
• Previous immersion or Dual Language Immersion teaching experience

• Can communicate with a wide range of students while providing scaffolding for all learners.
• Utilizes formative and summative assessments to determine student pacing and needs.
• Additional tasks and/or assignments to further the mission and vision of the school, as assigned.
