About The Position

The Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School community is seeking a passionate, innovative, and student-centered Fifth Grade English Language Arts Teacher to join our award-winning school. As part of our departmentalized fifth-grade team, the English Language Arts Teacher will cultivate strong readers, writers, speakers, and critical thinkers. The successful candidate will engage students in rich literacy experiences that foster a love of reading, strengthen communication skills, and promote thoughtful analysis of diverse texts. Grade-level teachers collaborate closely to create meaningful, interdisciplinary learning experiences that support student growth and achievement. Candidates with experience or interest in arts integration, project-based learning, social-emotional learning, and literacy instruction are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of literacy instruction, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening standards.
  • Ability to create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love of learning and literacy.
  • Connecticut State Certification 305 (Elementary Education) or other appropriate Connecticut certification required.
  • Strong instructional practices.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement.
