ELA- Intervention Teacher
About The Position
Eastpointe Community Schools is hiring an ELA Intervention Teacher for Eastpointe High School, serving grades 9–12. The role focuses on inspiring effective literacy instruction, guiding English Language Arts learners, differentiating and scaffolding learning, and building strong relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the community. The school seeks an educator who can help develop a culture of pride and high achievement in Language Arts and support students’ academic, behavioral, and interpersonal needs. Salary is determined by the EFE Contract and a 15-step schedule. The Bachelor’s lane is $50,830–$82,897; the Master’s lane is $55,105–$87,756, with an additional $3,000 at each step for MA+30 or beyond.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education with an English major, or beyond.
- State of Michigan teaching certification for grades 6–12, or certification in process.
- Organizational skills.
- Successful classroom teaching experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide literacy and English Language Arts instruction to students.
- Differentiate and scaffold Language Arts learning for individual students.
- Guide Language Arts learners and support strong student achievement.
- Build relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the community.
- Contribute to a school culture of pride and high achievement in Language Arts.
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and interpersonal needs.
- Engage with the PLC Cycle and professional English learning.
