About The Position
This role is within the Diagnostic Cardiology department at Columbia St. Mary's in Milwaukee, WI. The EKG Technician will be responsible for attaching and operating electrodes for electrocardiograph procedures, reviewing patient records, instructing patients, monitoring patients during procedures, identifying and correcting artifacts, editing and forwarding results, and maintaining EKG equipment and supplies.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Responsibilities
- Attach, connect, and operate electrodes from specified body areas to leads from electrocardiograph machine.
- Review patient's record and instructs patients prior to procedures.
- Monitor patient during procedures and reports any abnormal findings.
- Identify and correct for artifacts.
- Edit and forward results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
- Maintain EKG equipment and supplies.
