Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia.
  • Ability to work with PCs and software programs (HIM system, EKG information management system, etc.).
  • General clerical skills including use of fax, copier, memo taking, conference phone system, etc.
  • Physical ability to assist patients with mobility issues and transport equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical School Diploma
  • Basic arrhythmia course
  • 1 year 12-lead ECG performance, knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia
  • CET - Certified EKG Technician - State of Pennsylvania

Responsibilities

  • Performs electrocardiogram (EKG) for outpatients and performs processing for inpatients and outpatients.
  • Assigns to Physician for reading.
  • Assists with troubleshooting (quality, performance, EKG machine, etc.).
  • Performs high quality patient care activities, including inpatient/outpatient EKG processing, and assigns to Physicians for reading daily.
  • Performs patient prep and applies electrodes for outpatient EKG daily.
  • Performs high quality patient care activities including patient prep, explanation, application, and documentation of Holter monitor recorders and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors daily.
  • Provides technical analysis of ECG data during all testing.
  • Performs follow through/documentation as part of patient's record on a daily basis.
  • Provides ECG support to other clinical areas to assist with quality, maintenance, and machine troubleshooting; procedure; and protocol utilization during downtimes, etc.
