Requirements
- High School/GED required.
- Phlebotomy: venipuncture and capillary methods.
- Communication – Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers required.
- Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques required.
Nice To Haves
- Vocational/Technical School preferred.
- Formal Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
- A minimum of one year’s consecutive experience may be considered in lieu of certification.
Responsibilities
- Collecting laboratory specimens and performing EKG’s on patients treated in the outpatient setting, including off site locations and nursing homes.
- Collecting laboratory specimens from hospital inpatients. Patients range in age from newborn through older adult.
