About The Position

Base is America’s next-generation power company, focused on transforming the grid with distributed batteries. As an EHS Technician, you will be central to the company's safety program, working on the floor, in the field, and ensuring compliance to keep employees safe and operations running smoothly. This role involves partnering with engineers, production leads, and field crews, and offers significant responsibility from day one in managing RCRA hazardous waste programs, overseeing inspection cycles, responding to incidents, and fostering a strong safety culture.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or field operations environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926.
  • Working knowledge of RCRA hazardous waste requirements.
  • Working knowledge of EPA/TCEQ regulations.
  • Electrical experience required.
  • Hands-on track record in hazardous waste management, emergency response, and exposure monitoring.
  • Clear communicator comfortable engaging crews, engineers, and leadership.
  • Forklift-certified (or obtainable within 30 days).
  • Valid Texas driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with lithium-ion battery storage systems.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 855.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day OSHA, TCEQ, RCRA, EPA, and DOT compliance across facilities and job sites, including inspections, corrective actions, and program management.
  • Maintain an active floor and field presence to identify hazards, coach safe behaviors, deliver training, and build an impactful safety culture.
  • Oversee the complete RCRA hazardous waste program, including storage, labeling, satellite accumulation, drum logs, and coordination with disposal contractors.
  • Respond to EHS incidents and emergencies by activating procedures, collecting preliminary findings, and supporting root cause investigations.
  • Support air permit, SWPPP, and SPCC inspection cycles.
  • Develop Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) assessments.
  • Maintain EHS documentation and databases.
