About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking an EHS Technician at our El Paso facility located at 7800 Trade Center Avenue. The rate for this position is $28.00 per hour. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual: Spanish and English

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
  • 1 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Proven ability in counseling/advising in various EHS needs.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to lift, up to 20 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and promote zero incident EHS culture throughout site by championing projects designed to effectively drive improvements in our “Zero Incident Safety Culture” program(s).
  • Assist with the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health and utilize the MESH tools to drive improvements.
  • Support the function in EHS data analysis, data management, reporting and training while providing technical expertise to the organization.
  • Support tracking of appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track EHS performance.
  • Support EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.
  • Assist champion for the MESH MOC process, this will include mentoring employees who perform a variety of engineering work in designing, installing, operating, and maintaining measuring apparatus necessary to determine the level of pollutants involving air, land and water.
  • Evaluate jobs for possible ergonomic improvements and implement these work design changes.
  • Investigate all accidents and near misses, identifies root causes, and ensures corrective actions are implemented. Will be the lead person for 8D on all recordable accidents.
  • Coordinate assigned Occupational Safety and Health and other training programs
  • Compile and analyze MESH data for capturing in Eaton’s Safety database to include corrective action tracking and MESH scoring as assigned
  • Assist coordination to ZWaD certification and water reduction programs with cross functional teams.
  • Participate in emergency response planning/drills and provide first aid as needed.
