About The Position

The EHS Manager is responsible for leading and managing all environmental, health, and safety programs within the plant. This role ensures that the facility and its employees operate in full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. The EHS Manager partners closely with plant leadership to foster a strong safety culture, minimize risk, and drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance. The EHS Manager operates with a high degree of independence, exercising sound judgment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and any shift as needed to support plant operations.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Proven ability to lead safety programs and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and environmental standards.
  • Lead safety initiatives to promote a proactive safety culture and reduce workplace incidents and injuries.
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and facility inspections; identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement preventive measures.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs to ensure employee awareness and compliance.
  • Manage regulatory reporting requirements and maintain accurate EHS records and documentation.
  • Partner with plant leadership on continuous improvement initiatives related to safety and environmental performance.
  • Oversee emergency preparedness and response programs, including drills and crisis management planning.
  • Monitor and analyze safety and environmental metrics; provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external audits.
