About The Position

Join Samsung Biologics as an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager and play a key role in supporting our mission to deliver life-saving medicines. The EHS Manager position serves as a strategic partner to site leadership, driving a strong culture of safety, environmental stewardship, compliance, and continuous improvement across manufacturing and laboratory operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Science, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs, preferably within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing and laboratory operations.
  • Knowledge of EHS management systems, risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation processes, and regulatory compliance programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related business applications.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and support site risk assessment processes to identify, evaluate, and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Partner with project teams to ensure EHS requirements are incorporated into capital projects, facility modifications, and operational initiatives.
  • Establish robust risk management processes and ensure effective implementation throughout the site.
  • Lead and oversee investigations involving injuries, illnesses, environmental releases, near misses, and non-injury incidents to identify root causes and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead investigations into serious incidents and adverse events.
  • Provide timely, high-quality technical EHS guidance and support to employees and leadership.
  • Design, deliver, and oversee EHS training programs to ensure regulatory compliance and employee competency.
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections and assessments to verify compliance with site policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and manage an internal EHS audit program to assess compliance with legal and company standards while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Establish site EHS policies, objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and performance targets aligned with Samsung Biologics' long-term EHS strategy.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report EHS performance metrics, implementing actions to address trends and improve performance.
  • Develop and maintain programs that effectively manage environmental, health, and safety risks within an integrated EHS management system.
  • Review change management initiatives, including capital projects and new product introductions, to identify potential EHS impacts and support risk mitigation efforts.
  • Support and oversee contractor safety programs to ensure safe work practices and compliance.
  • Collaborate with EHS professionals across Samsung Biologics global sites to share best practices, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and continuously improve site EHS policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Ensure accurate and timely EHS reporting to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
