The EHS Co-op will be working on job assignments related to their functional environmental or safety discipline. This role involves applying learned EHS principles to hands-on situations, working with the hourly workforce to address day-to-day safety concerns, and creating Department Hazard Maps. The intern will also review Environmental/Safety Policies, Procedures, and Programs, perform Respirator Fit Testing, and conduct Plant-wide Hearing Conservation Surveys. Additional tasks include gathering safety data, conducting Confined Space Entry Evaluations, performing Job Safety Analyses (JSA), working on various environmental projects, and attending safety training sessions and other educational opportunities. Daily safety inspections and reporting safety concerns to the Safety Department are also part of the responsibilities.
