The EHS TFSM Oregon Engineer is a high-impact position embedded within Intel's Technology Front-End Semiconductor Manufacturing organization at our Hillsboro, Oregon campus. Reporting to the EHS TFSM Manager, you will serve as the primary technical authority for Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene, and Safety programs across Intel's Oregon manufacturing sites. You won't just ensure compliance - you'll be a strategic partner to engineers, technologists, and factory teams, proactively identifying and resolving health and safety challenges as Intel develops the next generation of process technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, or a related science
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience conducting technical ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and safety assessments in a field environment
  • The ability to translate complex health and safety requirements into clear, actionable guidance for a wide range of audiences
  • Sound engineering judgment and a structured approach to technical problem-solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • A proactive mindset - you anticipate risks before they become problems
  • A genuine commitment to teamwork and partnership with the people you support

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, or a related science
  • 4+ years of experience with field assessments, technical analysis, and communicating EHS requirements to diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience with: o Ergonomic evaluations o Chemical exposure assessments o Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) o Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and other advanced technical safety analyses
  • Background in semiconductor manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, or technology development environments
  • Active professional certification: Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and safety support throughout the full lifecycle of process equipment and facility systems - from procurement and design through integration and transfer
  • Validate that supplier equipment has been reviewed as compliant to SEMI S2 and S8 semiconductor industry standards during procurement
  • Partner with factory stakeholders to deliver safety design support for equipment and facilities installations
  • Serve as the EHS technical resource for new process technology development, including the introduction of novel process equipment and chemicals
  • Conduct detailed, high-quality risk assessments for new manufacturing equipment and facilities
  • Develop and recommend appropriate health and safety controls - engineering and/or administrative - to effectively mitigate identified risks
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all controls are fully validated and implemented before new technology transfers to high-volume manufacturing
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and Intel policies across all supported sites
  • Own and continuously improve Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene, and Safety programs at Oregon manufacturing locations
  • Represent EHS TFSM Oregon in cross-site health and safety teams
  • Collaborate with EHS TFSM teammates to drive meaningful health and safety improvements across Intel's factories
