About The Position

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, this position supports the organization’s environmental programs and all areas in safety and quality control. This position is responsible for coordinating efforts to ensure a safe working environment and those standards, record-keeping, permits and environmental concerns are maintained according to regulations and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or five years of similar experience in related field.
  • Basic understanding of safety knowledge.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Requires basic reading, writing and math skills.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
  • Ability to operate personal computer, printer, calculator, copier, facsimile machine, and any other office equipment required to perform duties.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required with a professional phone voice and mannerism.
  • Requires the ability to communicate with the public and employees at all levels.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Predictable and regular attendance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Records and Maintains safety information in the Basic Safe program to company standards.
  • Back up for processing approved purchase order requisitions and create/change purchase orders.
  • Support regional locations with safety initiatives, contribute to QC-related questions, ensuring that the new team members have the proper procedures and documentation, along with providing general assistance.
  • Inventory Support with the direction of the Office Manager.
  • Provide daily production reconciliation with the Plant Management team. Assists with production reporting data entry and identifies and investigates issues as needed.
  • Provides samples for sales teams and making sure color matching remains consistent.
  • Performs and Records completed Environmental Health and Safety & Quality Control inspections.
  • Coordinate outside Vendors and order parts, materials, and supplies needed to maintain plant’s safety initiatives as directed.
  • Ensure that both the Design Center and the Plant locations meet all OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure that all Safety Record Keeping and Documentation requirements are met.
  • Ensures that all accidents and injuries are properly investigated and that the written report accurately describes the circumstances surrounding the accident/Injury.
  • Regularly test incoming raw materials to ensure they meet or exceed the stated quality requirements and are suitable for use in manufacturing. Including sands, aggregates, color, and cement.
  • Performs Compressive Strength testing, absorption, and density testing for concrete products produced also confirm compliance/non-compliance and identify any sub-standard procedures of processes involved.
  • Record concrete mix designs and collaborate on optimization.
  • Maintains work area per company standards for cleanliness.
  • All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives.
  • May occasionally be required to use personal or company vehicle for business purposes.
  • May be asked to work occasionally weekends, specifically but not limited to semi-annual physical inventory.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies, ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
