About The Position

The EHR Instructor serves as a primary course instructor for a variety of EHR courses, training new or transferring Mayo Clinic employees on EHR functionality. This role also supports specific training events, initiatives, and upgrades. The instructor will assist in designing and validating curriculum and end-user resource materials, collaborating with instructional designers as needed. A key aspect of this role is understanding Mayo Clinic workflows and applying adult learning principles in training delivery. The instructor will also provide limited at-the-elbow support and may act as a customer relationship manager for assigned service lines, systems, and special projects. Additionally, the role involves training and mentoring other staff members. If leading instructor-led Epic courses, the EHR Instructor will be credentialed as a trainer internally and should be familiar with virtual classroom management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • One to three years of related experience in a training-related field required.
  • Previous Training & Development experience required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • An understanding of business process required.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Adult Education, Training & Development, Human Resources, medical or related field preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary course instructor for a variety of EHR courses (minimum of 10).
  • Train new or transferring Mayo Clinic employees on EHR functionality.
  • Support specific training events, initiatives, and upgrades.
  • Assist with curriculum and end-user resource materials design and validation.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers or senior instructional designers.
  • Understand Mayo Clinic workflows and teach according to standard adult training expectations.
  • Provide limited at-the-elbow support.
  • Serve as primary customer relationship manager to assigned service lines, systems, and special projects.
  • Train and mentor other staff members.
  • Be credentialed as a trainer through the internal credentialing process if leading instructor-led Epic courses.
  • Understand the basics of virtual classroom management and support.
