About The Position

The Electronic Health Record (EHR) Application Support Analyst applies their knowledge of Healthcare and Clinical Applications to administer, demonstrate, implement, optimize, train and support various critical systems of the Healthcare Solutions Team. This role serves as a liaison between clinical users, IT teams, and vendors to ensure efficient EHR workflows, system functionality, and end-user support. Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to work well in a diverse, multicultural environment. Candidate should possess a sense of ownership over assigned portfolio of applications and ensures smooth daily operation of all applications in the position’s purview. Candidate will use extensive analytical and troubleshooting skills to carry out their primary responsibilities. Must possess ability to balance competing demands, urgent matters and confidential material in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, or related fields; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Must have four (4) years of experience working within a healthcare delivery system, supporting departmental and enterprise EHR platform applications.
  • Must have 1 year of experience supporting Electronic Health Record applications in a hospital or healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.

Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, maintain, and optimize EHR application modules, templates, order sets, clinical documentation tools, dictionaries, and related application components. Monitor system performance to ensure reliable operation.
  • Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and operational stakeholders to analyze current workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and design optimized workflows, data flows, and system solutions that support organizational goals.
  • Provide application and technical support for user requests, functionality troubleshooting, configuration issues, and complex system problems. Work with vendors and internal teams to investigate, resolve, and prevent application failures.
  • Lead and participate in unit, integration, regression, and workflow-based testing for upgrades, patches, new software deployments, and system enhancements. Develop test plans, create test data, evaluate results, and support successful production deployments. Assist in identifying and implementing test automation opportunities.
  • Perform application maintenance in compliance with established ITIL and change control processes. Ensure all modifications are documented, tested, approved, and deployed according to organizational standards. Participate in identifying, evaluating, and recommending system improvements and emerging technologies.
  • Support data quality initiatives, interface validation, data extraction processes, and regulatory reporting requirements. Assist with ensuring the accuracy and integrity of clinical and operational data.
  • Create, maintain, and routinely review technical documentation, system specifications, administrative and user guides, workflow documentation, training materials, test plans, and change logs to ensure accuracy and usability.
  • Demonstrate application functionality, contribute to training plans, develop user education materials, and provide training and support for end users regarding application functionality, workflows, and system updates.
  • Serve as an active member of project and implementation teams, adhering to project plans and statements of work. Function as an analyst during application implementation and enhancement initiatives.
  • Prioritize and manage support tickets based on operational impact, maintain accurate ticket documentation and categorization, and participate in daily team discussions to facilitate knowledge sharing and issue resolution.
  • Work with healthcare teams, stakeholders, and cross-functional departments to support operational excellence, software quality, process improvements, and successful technology adoption.
  • Complete all required electronic health record entries accurately and timely and comply with applicable organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in departmental workflow, testing, and project teams supporting electronic health record systems and other organizational initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and work evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and after-hours support as required.
  • Adhere to all organizational safety, infection prevention, PPE, cleaning, and decontamination protocols in accordance with current regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Ensure proper PPE is worn at all times while on duty including but not limited to, face mask, gloves, gown, isolation gown, NIOSH-approved N95 filtering facepiece respirator or higher, if available), and eye or face shield.
  • Complete all donning and doffing tasks in a safe acceptable method and discard of used PPE accordingly. (see CDC website for most current updates)
  • Complete task training for all routine cleaning and decontamination processes for all surfaces contaminated by a communicable disease to ensure a high level of patient, visitor, employee, and external customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership.
