About The Position

The EHR Application Specialist plays a crucial role in developing and implementing training materials, schedules, and solutions to enhance the understanding and utilization of the EHR/PM/EDR system and other platforms. This position involves close collaboration with multiple departments and management teams to coordinate effective training programs. The specialist will support the EHR Manager in various projects, including EHR upgrades, interface design, template evaluations, and the implementation of new systems. Daily maintenance and configuration of ancillary tools such as telehealth, lab and medication interfaces, and patient portals are also key responsibilities. The role includes conducting regular audits to ensure maximum EHR utilization and proper system functioning, as well as participating in upgrades, software patches, and workflow improvement projects. Additionally, the EHR Application Specialist will support operations, nursing, and clinical management with workflow design and improvement, and work with various teams to ensure quality of care standards are met through the EHR system. Responding to helpdesk tickets and maintaining documentation of audits and follow-up actions are also part of the role. Safety standards must be followed in all aspects of performance.

Requirements

  • Experience with EHR/PM/EDR systems.
  • Ability to develop and implement training materials.
  • Strong coordination skills for working with multiple departments and management teams.
  • Experience with system configuration and daily maintenance of ancillary tools (telehealth, lab/medication interfaces, patient portals).
  • Proficiency in conducting system audits.
  • Experience with EHR upgrades, software patches, and interface implementation.
  • Skills in workflow design and improvement.
  • Ability to respond to helpdesk tickets and follow protocols.
  • Knowledge of Patient Centered Medical Home and UDS standards.
  • Understanding of safety standards in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements new training materials, schedules, and solutions.
  • Works with multiple departments and management teams to coordinate training that supports an increased understanding of the EHR/PM/EDR system and other platforms.
  • Supports EHR Manager with the implementation of projects such as EHR upgrades, design of interfaces, template evaluations, and new systems.
  • Performs system configuration and daily maintenance for ancillary tools like telehealth, lab and medication interfaces, and specialized portals.
  • Conducts audits to ensure the EHR is being maximized and functioning appropriately.
  • Participates in the implementation of upgrades, software patches, interfaces, and workflow improvement projects.
  • Supports operations, nursing, and clinical management with workflow design and improvement.
  • Conducts regular audits on EHR system usage to ensure appropriate usage.
  • Maintains documentation of audits performed, along with necessary follow-up and retraining.
  • Responds to helpdesk tickets or calls in a timely manner and follows helpdesk protocols.
  • Works with Data Analytics, quality team, nursing, operations, and medical providers to ensure Patient Centered Medical Home, UDS, and other quality of care standards are met with the EHR system.
  • Follows safety standards in all aspects of performance, reports/removes unsafe equipment, and attends safety education sessions.
