About The Position

This position is responsible for designing, building, testing, implementing, and supporting software applications required for deployment of the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system and other Clinical IT systems. The role serves as a leader with overall responsibility for software analysis and design, application and system installation, and implementation of assigned Epic applications and other clinical IT systems. It formulates system scope and design objectives through analysis and research to configure vendor-maintained systems or develop or modify in-house systems.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Nursing, Business, or Computer/Information Sciences, or an equivalent level of professional experience.
At least 5 years of industry-related experience in an IT/Clinical setting or applicable area in healthcare operations.
Prior experience in EMR implementations.
Strong understanding of functionality related to the assigned application, such as Emergency Room workflow or In-Patient CPOE.
Strong computer skills, including Windows, Exchange/Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project.
Ability to travel up to 50% as required.
Familiarity with CMS and HIPAA regulations regarding meaningful use requirements and attestations.
Ability to manage more than one project at a time and communicate with all stakeholders in a timely manner.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Epic and very strong building skills.
Nursing experience.
Five years of experience supporting Epic, implementations, and/or upgrades.
Ability to communicate tactfully and work effectively with patients, physicians, vendors, and System staff at all levels.
Ability to lead and work effectively in a diverse, multidisciplinary team; strong motivation and team skills.
Excellent understanding of terminology, functional knowledge, business processes, and issues related to computer systems in Nursing, Pharmacy, Radiology, Laboratory, and other ancillary clinical services.
Experience in business information system management in an acute or ambulatory care setting.

Responsibilities
