About The Position

This position is responsible for designing, building, testing, installing, and supporting software applications needed to deploy the Meditech electronic medical record (EMR) system and other Clinical IT systems. As a leader, the role has overall responsibility for software analysis and design, as well as application and system installation and implementation for assigned Meditech applications and other clinical IT systems. The position formulates system scope and design objectives through analysis and research to configure vendor-maintained systems or develop or modify in-house systems.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Nursing, Business, or Computer/Information Sciences, or equivalent professional experience.
Five years of industry-related experience in an IT/clinical setting or applicable healthcare operations area.
Prior experience with EMR implementations.
Strong understanding of functionality related to the assigned application, such as Emergency Room workflow or In-Patient CPOE.
Strong computer skills, including Windows, Exchange/Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project.
Familiarity with CMS and HIPPA regulations regarding meaningful use requirements and attestations.
Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate with all involved stakeholders in a timely manner.
Ability to travel up to 50% as required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with MEDITECH CS 5.6 and strong building skills.
Nursing experience.
Five years of experience supporting Meditech clinical modules, implementations, and/or upgrades.
Ability to communicate tactfully and work effectively with patients, physicians, vendors, and system staff at all levels.
Ability to lead and work effectively in a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
Strong motivation and team skills.
Excellent understanding of terminology, functional knowledge, business processes, and issues related to computer systems in Nursing, Pharmacy, Radiology, Laboratory, and other ancillary clinical services.
Experience in business information system management in an acute or ambulatory care setting.
Familiarity with CMS and HIPPA regulations regarding meaningful use requirements and attestations.
Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate with involved stakeholders in a timely manner.
