About The Position

The EHR Analyst supports the daily operation, optimization, and integrity of the organization’s electronic health record (EHR) systems. This role serves as the primary resource for end-user support, system workflows, access management, issue resolution, and data quality. The EHR Analyst collaborates with clinical, operational, IT, and leadership teams to ensure effective system use, accurate documentation, and reliable data capture. The role contributes to compliance with applicable healthcare requirements, including HIPAA, HITECH, and HRSA, and supports alignment with IHS Urban Indian Program, and PCMH standards.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting an EHR system.
  • Experience providing end-user support and workflow training in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or similar healthcare environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and resolves technical support tickets, providing frontline troubleshooting and escalating issues as needed.
  • Provides day-to-day support to staff on system navigation, workflows, and operational processes.
  • Coordinates onboarding and offboarding activities, including user account setup, role-based access, and initial training.
  • Delivers ongoing education, refresher training, and updates related to system changes, regulatory requirements, and interoperability standards.
  • Develops and maintains training materials, user guides, and standardized workflow documentation.
  • Maintains role-based user access in accordance with the principle of least privilege; conducts periodic access reviews.
  • Monitors system activity, audit logs, and user behavior for potential inappropriate access or security risks; escalates concerns per policy.
  • Supports compliance with HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and HITECH requirements, including breach identification and reporting support.
  • Identifies, collects, and analyzes EHR data and reports to identify discrepancies, incomplete documentation and workflow inefficiencies; coordinates with departments to resolve issues.
  • Supports reporting needs for operational, clinical, and compliance purposes, including IHS and HRSA-related reporting requirements.
  • Maintains data governance standards, including data accuracy, consistency, integrity, and alignment with USCDI data elements.
  • Supports interoperability workflows, including data exchange, continuity of care documents (CCDs), health information exchange (HIE), and validation of data mapping and structured data capture.
  • Collaborates with IT, vendors, and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, implement system enhancements, and support upgrades, including regulatory and interoperability changes.
  • Participates in system testing, validation, and change management processes.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to EHR use, documentation standards, data governance; ensures adherence to applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Travels as needed to support organizational operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
