About The Position

The EEG Technician provides electro-neurodiagnostic testing services to inpatients and outpatients, from neonates to adults, as ordered by a physician. The role includes recording brain electrical activity to support the study of epilepsy and convulsive disorders and to help localize cerebral lesions. The technician also performs polysomnology testing, including BIPAP/CPAP trials, and carries out clerical duties. The role participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.

Requirements

BLS certification from AHA or ARC is required.
Able to independently perform routine EEG studies according to job-specific criteria.

Nice To Haves

ABRET EEG registration preferred.
Graduation from an accredited electro-neurodiagnostic technology program preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in neurodiagnostic technology preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide electro-neurodiagnostic testing services to inpatients and outpatients, from neonates to adults, as ordered by a physician.
Perform EEGs, ambulatory EEGs, telephone transmission EEGs, and multiple sleep latency EEGs.
Record electrical activity of the brain to study epilepsy and convulsive disorders and localize lesions in the cerebrum.
Perform polysomnology testing, including BIPAP/CPAP trials.
Perform clerical duties.
Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
