About The Position
NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital is hiring a per diem EEG technician for its outpatient laboratory in Cortlandt Manor, New York. The technician conducts appropriate EKG-EEG tests as ordered in a fast-paced hospital, using laboratory equipment and helping provide a calm, comfortable experience for patients. The role is a flexible day and evening schedule and includes alternating weekends. On-site presence is required, and employees should live within a commutable distance; travel expenses are not reimbursed.
Requirements
- Ability to operate all laboratory equipment and work various shifts.
- Ability to communicate with hospital staff, physicians, patients, and visitors by telephone and in person.
- Ability to deal with patients pleasantly to minimize trauma.
- Ability to function well under the normal pressures of hospital laboratory work.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Some laboratory training and EKG/EEG experience.
