The Educator and Co-coordinator works collaboratively with all nursing faculty, administration, and students to develop and implement clinical simulation as a method of learning for nursing students to enhance and support their educational needs. This is a 12-month appointment.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with computer skills and use of instructional technology strategies.
  • Knowledge of education principles and teaching-learning methods.
  • Excellent public relations abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • In-depth clinical knowledge of outcome-based patient care.
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience (5 years preferred).
  • Minimum BSN required.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Virginia required.
  • Current CPR certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience in medical/surgical, critical care, obstetrics, and/or pediatrics.
  • Teaching experience and use of classroom technologies.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications relevant to simulator functions.
  • MSN preferred.
  • If possesses BSN only, national certification preferred. or enrolled in a graduate nursing program or CNE (Certified Nurse Educator) certified.
