About The Position

Pilgrim Area Collaborative (PAC) is a public educational collaborative serving students with a wide range of disabilities from primary through post-secondary levels. We have an anticipated need for an Educational Support Professional (ESP) to work with post-high school aged students in our GAP Program. Experience with older students, Ed Coaching, and/or transitional services is strongly desired. This is a full-time position.

• Ability to implement behavior programs, which may entail physical restraints and/or physical escorts.
• Ability to attend mandatory Restraint Training on an annual basis.
• Ability to support students in grooming, toileting, eating and/or self-care skills.
• Ability to lift and position physically involved students.
• Ability to implement routine therapy programs as assigned by therapists and/or counselors.
• Ability to correct student work which is objective in nature.
• Ability to provide supervision of students during instructional activities and transitional periods.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
• Ability to establish and maintain appropriate and cooperative relationships with staff.
• Ability to adhere to facility or host school rules.
• Ability to accept work assignments with any student in the classroom.
• Ability to assist in taking and recording student attendance and data collection.
• Ability to assist in setting and maintaining reasonable standards of classroom behavior.
• Ability to assist in recording relevant data on student performance and behavior.
• Ability to report all student accidents and misbehavior to the classroom teacher.
• Ability to assist in collecting, obtaining, and developing individualized classroom materials.
• Ability to meet with classroom teacher/team as needed to discuss programming, schedule, and behavioral management.
• Ability to participate in mandatory professional development opportunities.
• Ability to perform administrative/classroom duties as requested.
• Ability to perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director and/or Executive Director.

Responsibilities

• Work on educational tasks with one or more students as designated by the supervising teacher.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students to ensure their safety.
• Implement behavior programs with students at the direction of supervising teacher. This may entail physical restraints and/or physical escorts.
• Attend mandatory Restraint Training on an annual basis.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks.
• Support students in grooming, toileting, eating and/or self-care skills, as necessary.
• Lift and position physically involved students.
• Implement routine therapy programs as assigned by Physical/Occupational/Speech-Language/Behavior Therapist(s) and/or Adjustment Counselors.
• Correct student work which is objective in nature.
• Provide supervision of students during instructional activities, transitional periods including recess and lunch.
• Meet assigned students in the morning and oversee their departure in the afternoon.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and student information.
• Establish and maintain appropriate and cooperative relationships with PAC staff as well as any other staff of the building in which the program is located.
• Adhere to the rules of the PAC facility or host school.
• Accept work assignments with any student in the classroom.
• Assist supervising teacher in taking and recording student attendance and data collection.
• Assist supervising teacher in setting and maintaining reasonable standards of classroom behavior.
• Assist supervising teacher in recording relevant data on student performance and student behavior.
• Report all student accidents and misbehavior to the classroom teacher.
• Assist the supervising teacher in collecting, obtaining, and developing individualized classroom materials which will be used for educational development and the enrichment of the classroom.
• Meet with classroom teacher/team as needed during work hours to discuss programming, classroom schedule, and behavioral management issues.
• Participate in mandatory professional development opportunities.
• Perform administrative/classroom duties as requested by supervising teacher.
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director and/or Executive Director.
