The Student Outcomes Advising Consultant serves under the direct supervision of the Associate Director of Federal Programs & Leadership. This role involves planning, developing, and facilitating professional development to meet grant requirements and support regional educational goals. The consultant will design and deliver professional development activities to demonstrate innovative instructional techniques and evidence-based methodologies. They will collaborate on the development and facilitation of staff development initiatives for the Education Service Center (ESC) and local education agencies (LEAs), and actively participate as a member of ESC/LEA teams and contribute to relevant Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). This role requires analyzing and interpreting student performance data in relation to state standards to guide program support and intervention, and supporting the evaluation of service center programs and recommending modifications to optimize the attainment of ESC goals. The consultant will maintain current knowledge of instructional practices, professional literature, and state and federal regulations relevant to the job, and develop new competencies through participation in cross-functional team activities and professional growth opportunities. They will maintain open communication and confidentiality in accordance with the Texas Professional Standards of Ethics. Additionally, the consultant will advise LEAs on improving student performance through effective planning processes, including assessment, goal setting, resource identification, and evaluation, and exhibit a professional demeanor when communicating with clients. The role also includes empowering school systems to develop and implement individual student planning systems as part of a comprehensive counseling program, driving innovation in CTE by supporting districts in adopting and expanding programs aligned with high-skill, high-wage, and in-demand industries. The consultant will provide coaching and resources through the Effective Advising Framework (EAF) to strengthen district advising systems and improve student outcomes, guide school systems through the EAF planning and implementation process, and support districts to promote and increase the number of students who graduate fully prepared for college, career, or military success. This position requires participation in all required TEA training and support activities to achieve or maintain EAF Coach Designation, overseeing partner districts through the EAF implementation process, providing individualized feedback on planning components, and ensuring timely completion. The consultant will also facilitate regional understanding and utilization of the My Texas Future platform.
